Job Description
Our client, an oil and gas construction company, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to assist with accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and maintain effective communication with employees and departments regarding payroll-related matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Maintain employee records and ensure accuracy of data
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee information and benefits administration
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to payroll
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Paychex, Paycom, UltiPro, or similar systems
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefits administration
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of government accounting regulations is a plus
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
