ThePayroll Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Payroll Manager with daily payroll operations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for onboarding and payroll coding of all new hires
- Manage personal productivity on ZenDesk ticket system
- Provide field customer service of payroll concerns, complaints, and needs
- Follow all confidential information procedures and electronically file all paperwork
- Preparing biweekly/weekly payroll templates for additional payments
- Auditing precheck files for payroll errors prior to posting
- Preparing and administering employment verifications requests
- Preparing and administering unemployment paperwork requests
- Process all change of status requests from field
- Process hourly termination requests from field
- Assist the Payroll Manager in any needs of the department
- Assist with and/or perform additional duties as required by operating needs of the company or as directed by management.
- Maintain, setup, and audit PTO plans
- Follow all state specific payroll requirements
- Audit Kronos timecards for accuracy
- Pull UKG reports on behalf of station needs
- Audit UKG employee payroll coding for accuracy and consistency
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education and Experience:High School, college degree preferred. 1-2 years in payroll experience (Multi-State Payroll is a plus). Experience in HR and/or finance is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to make decisions recognizing established precedents and practices and to use resourcefulness and tact in solving new problems.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong knowledge in Excel required
- Strong knowledge in all Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting rules, confidentiality, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and precision of work
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working cross functional relationships
- Ability to follow directions and ability to work with little to no supervision
- Excellent computer skills required
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Working Conditions: Indoor working environment.
Working Schedule: M-F 8am-4pm, ability to work some weekends and some holidays.
