The Payroll and HR Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of Payroll and providing support in various HR functions. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Teamwork and good communication are essential.
- Assist with processing bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and documentation, including but not limited to timesheets, salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
- Assist in implementing training programs for new hires and ongoing employees.
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of employee benefits, including insurance enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Monitor medical leave requests, ensuring compliance with FMLA and other relevant regulations.
- Audit vacation and sick time accruals, process time-off requests, and maintain accurate records.
- Handle inquiries from employees regarding payroll, benefits, and other HR-related matters.
- Stay updated on federal, state, and local labor laws and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Manage multistate payroll processing, understanding and navigating differences in state tax regulations and requirements.
- Collaborate with the HR team on special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll administration and HR functions.
- Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems; experience with ADP or similar platforms preferred.
- Understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements in multistate environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Highly organized and able to adapt to priorities.
- Experience with multistate payroll processing is a plus.
