Job Description
Timberline Construction Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Payroll Accountant in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of construction, project, and payroll processes within a high growth company. This staff member will be a key player in the success of the accounting team and TCG. The position will be located at our headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama and will work daily with the field staff, project managers, Controller and Managing Members.

Responsibilities
· Oversee all aspects of the company payroll process and reporting.
· Responsible for accurate review and coding of timekeeping for bi-weekly pay periods.
· Ensure adherence to all payroll and expense reporting policies and elevate issues to management.
· Manage communication with payroll processing company.
· Ensure timely bi-weekly payroll is submitted to payroll processor.
· Maintain correct state payroll tax calculations for multi-state payroll.
· In-charge of daily payroll maintenance, and all employee personal info related changes.
· Manage any updates in employee benefit, garnishment, or any other withholding deductions.
· Update any hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, or any other means of compensation.
· Create bi-weekly payroll journal and enter into operating system.
· Collect all expense reports, corresponding receipts, and code in operating system.
· Send out bi-weekly credit card reports to staff, collect receipts and code correctly in general ledger.
· Maintain PTO balances throughout the year and manage accrual.
· Oversee year-end payroll accruals, W2s and state and local tax returns.
· Resolve any federal, state, and local payroll related tax notices.
· Maintain monthly and bi-weekly headcount and FTE calculations.
· Oversee payroll calculations for monthly Workers Compensation reporting.
· Complete all duties with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
· Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
· Prior construction experience is highly desired, but not required.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Online 365.
· Experience with QuickBooks Online and other Operating Systems.
· Tech-savvy. Timberline is an integrated company and looking to utilize online platforms.
