OFFICIAL TITLE: Payment Technician
Salary: $18.00/Hour + Comprehensible benefit package (please see below for full benefits offered details).
Work location: Administrative Offices - Mid Wilshire, Los Angeles
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Hybrid Schedule – 2 days onsite/3 days remote!
Occasional weekends or evenings.
Primary duties: Process payments vouchers for the Childcare Subsidy Programs. Maintain all documentation of the Payment Services Unit. Respond to client inquiries regarding payment status.
Other Duties:
- Payment processing:
- Calculate and process childcare provider vouchers.
- Review childcare program approvals to review payment eligibility.
- Review incoming vouchers, check for completion and reject any invalid vouchers.
- Maintain a filing system for rejected vouchers.
- Enter payment information into database.
- Apply the program payment rules and accommodating changes as needed.
- Meet payment deadlines.
- Follow any special instructions as requested.
- Answer phones and assist walks ins inquiring payment status.
- Conduct follow up phone calls to providers for corrections on their voucher.
- File documentation of payment distribution per payment department direction.
- Generate reports as needed.
- Other duties assigned.
Requirements:
AA in accounting or related field, preferred.
One to two years of experience in Bookkeeping/Accounting or related fields, required.
Strong mathematical skills.
Computer experience (Windows, MS Word and MS Excel)
Competency with written and spoken English.
Must have the ability to work effectively with people from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds.
Position requires some travel and evening and weekend hours.
Highly Preferred English/Korean.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE INCLUDES:
· 10 days of Vacation per year for the first 2 years of service. Accrual at start.
· 10 Sick Days per year. Accrual at start.
· 11 Holidays – no waiting period.
· 18 Paid Hours early release – no waiting period.
