- Transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or otherwise escort patients to correct locations within VA Medical Center in a safe and timely manner 100% of the time.
- Make all runs available during shift and all assigned by dispatcher efficiently and safely.
- Serve as an ambassador to patients, family members.
- Communicate effectively with VA medical staff and dispatcher using excellent customer service through established guest service techniques.
- Respond to medical emergency and broadcast codes and be familiar with VA Medical Center routes.
- Continuous walking throughout shift (includes pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, and twisting).
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to push, pull, and maneuver wheelchairs, stretchers and beds with people of all statures.
- Ability to work independently and use handheld 2-way radio.
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and work different shifts to accommodate staffing needs.
