Patient Service Representative/Medical Assistant

Job summary: Looking for a very creative, super friendly, and high-energy individual with a great sense of humor who is passionate about working with children and their families, and who can perform both administrative and light clinical duties in our pediatric clinic. The individual must also enjoy working with a diverse group of patients and willing to go above and beyond to meet patients’ needs with excellent customer service skills. The PSR / MA must be competent to perform all the duties listed below, conscientious, professional, and dependable.

Duties include but not limited to:

Administrative

• Greeting each patient and their families with a friendly smile and eagerness to serve
• Patient registration
• Checking Patient in and out
• Warmly answer each phone call
• Patient Reminders
• Processing Referrals
• Insurance verification check and setup
• document scanning/copying/printing/faxing
• completing various forms and maintain medical records
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Clinical (occasionally)

• Perform basic clinical duties on an as needed basis
• Prepares patients for the physician’s examination
• Obtaining vital signs and clinical history

• Assist in maintaining accurate and complete vaccination records
• Assists with patient and/or family education.
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Excellent writing skills
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA Guidelines
• Ensures all communications reflect the standards and mission of the clinic
• Strong commitment to our Vision, Mission and Core Values (KIDS à Kindness, Integrity, Dignity, Safety)
• Phlebotomy and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification helpful but not required
• Associate degree preferred

Hours:

Wednesday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

Friday: 8am - Noon

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 20 – 24 per week
