Patient Service Coordinator

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is hiring for a part-time Patient Service Coordinator to join our Laboratory Department.

The Patient Service Coordinator:

Manages patient reports, orders, billing code information via H.I.S., L.I.S. and directs and responds to telephone requests for patient care.

• Sorts and distributes reports to designated departments, physicians and offices.
• Photocopies reports and other documents for patient records, laboratory administration, policies, procedures and education.
• Maintains diagnostic and billing code information; obtains missing information from ordering physicians.
• Answers the phone and intercom.
• Manually bills charges through the H.I.S., as needed.
• Provides backup for laboratory secretary.
• Call/fax lab results to ordering nursing station, office or physician.

EXPERIENCE: Familiarity with customer service methods, telephone etiquette, fax machine, lab terminology, knowledge of basic mathematics, use of calculator, typing/keyboard skills. Marketing experience preferred.

REQUIREMENTS: Associates in Health Information Management or Medical Administrative Assistant OR 5 yrs. relevant experience required
