The Patient Safety & Risk Manager is responsible for developing, building, and leading an organization-wide world-class Patient Safety program placing the entity at the forefront of Patient Safety. Overseeing the Patient Safety plan, including, but not limited to, coordinating the monitoring of compliance to standards supporting the National Patient Safety Goals, Sentinel Events, Culture of Safety, FMEA and Patient Safety related projects. Supervises Coordinator Risk Management and responsible for coordinating all aspects of the risk management program including the identification, evaluation, and treatment of risk in the organization. The Patient Safety & Risk Manager develops and manages a systematic process to identify, assess, and treat actual and potential exposures to loss. Investigates and analyzes actual and potential risks in the institution and facilitating clinical improvement initiatives and guiding the development, ongoing review and implementation of evidence-based improvement initiatives. Coordinates the facility's legal activities, which includes management of claims against the facility, interfacing with liability insurance carrier and defense legal counsel.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.
- Current New Jersey Pharmacist or Professional Nurse License, Bachelor of Science in nursing required, Master’s Degree preferred.
- Previous proven experience and expertise in risk management position commensurate with the demands of the position (3 - 5 years).
- Certification in a specialty required.
- Working knowledge of Patient Safety, Performance Improvement (PDSA, rapid Cycle Change, RCA, and FMEA), Joint Commission Standards, NJDOH Regulations, Legal Affairs and Risk Management.
