Emerg Dept Registration
The Patient Registration Educator will:
- Develop training plans, orientation, schedules and curriculum delivered through a variety of media such as classroom education, virtual training.
- Coordinate system security and login procedures with IT Security Administrators in all software required for training including but not limited to Relay, Navinet, Availity NJMMIS.
- Create competency assessments and attendance logs, follow up with access representatives and performs random quality checks of registration accuracy.
- Respond to end user trainer requests, questions and calls for assistance. Replies in a timely and respectful manner to guide requestors in proficient use of system(s).
- Participate in upgrade testing, integration and enhancement testing and provides education on new and upgraded software and documents and distributes education materials regarding workflow changes and enhancements.
- Take an active role in training new staff, assisting staff with questions and concerns. Oversee that all staff training needs are being met.
- Update management of any situations, training needs, end user feedback, complaints or suggestions as well as input to management for trainee's Introductory Evaluation.
- Fulfill all functions of the Access Representative when not performing educator duties and performs other duties as assigned by ED Registration leadership.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of registration and medical insurance processes.
- Ability to train new staff members and assist staff with questions and concerns.
- Ability to accommodate flexibility in training schedules, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Flexible and willing to work independently.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
- Strong computer keyboarding skills and experience with computerized programs and processes, including MS Office.
- Ability to quickly learn in-house patient record system.
- Nursing Unit Secretary experience and training/educator background preferred.
Hospital and Paragon experience required.
