Patient Prescription Line Coordinator

POSITION PURPOSE:
Provide exceptional service while assisting the providers with patient care by fielding prescription requests from patients .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

o Answer and respond to telephone calls regarding medications.
o Respond to walk-in patient requests for medications.

ASSOCIATED RESPONSIBILITITES

o Handle receipt and faxing of information
o Accept additional responsibilities when needed

CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED

o None

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

o Able to multi-task
o Clearly document in patient electronic record while conversing on the phone
o Use computer software to manage daily workload
o Good organizational skills; able to prioritize and problem-solve
o Compassion and consideration
o Attention to detail
o Promote harmony in working with patients and other team members
o Knowledge of medical terminology
o Reliable and motivated

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

o Pharmacy Tech. Certification preferred

o High school or equivalent education
o Experience in phone communication
o Experience in medical facility

o Good problem-solving skills
o Able to receive and disburse accurate information necessary for physician to address problem
o Able to reason with patients and other staff members
o Professionalism with patient care and employee interaction
o Able to take instruction and follow through

MATHEMATICAL AND COMPUTER SKILLS

o Basic computer skills
o Basic math computation skills
