Health Advocates is seeking an experienced Patient Financial Services Manager for our main office in Chatsworth, CA.
Job Summary
Directly and through subordinates is responsible for the day-to-day functions within the Insurance Unit in identifying and resolving underpaid healthcare insurance accounts and settling Third Party Liability and Worker’s Compensation claims for multiple hospital clients. Job responsibilities: identifying, monitoring, and resolving underpayments by payers of healthcare claims due to various denial reasons, including technical, administrative, clinical, and contractual issues. Resolution may include these methods – complying with payer appeals requirements, alternative dispute resolution, settlement conferences, and litigation coordination with Health Advocates’ affiliated law firm. Responsibilities also require development of positive external and internal relationships in order to facilitate timely resolutions of cases, staff development and performance reviews, identifying and implementing process improvements, managing day-to-day activity levels and functioning of the department to ensure effective and timely work, and performing miscellaneous related duties, as needed.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in a related field or any combination of education, training, or experience to
perform the essential duties of the position
· 3 to 5 years of experience in hospital, Third Party Liability, Worker Compensation collections at
a supervisory or senior level position
· Knowledgeable of Managed Care contracts in a health care delivery environment
· Demonstrated success with building and guiding a healthcare collections team
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Proven leadership skills and abilities
· Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Ability to work independently and with others
· Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
· Must be able to type 35 wpm
Working Title: Manager
Pay Rate: $38.50-$63.00 per hour (Depends on Experience)
Position Type: Full-time; Exempt
Schedule: Alternative Work Week Schedule: Mon-Thur 7:30 am - 5:00 pm and Fri 7:30 am -12:30 pm
Other: We conduct assessment testing and post offer background checks
