Patient Financial Counselor

Our Patient Financial Counselorwill be responsible for front desk activities within the practice but more specifically focused on the financial aspects of the front office such as collecting payments and financial counseling for patients.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Meets with patients for financial counseling and assist throughout process of treatment.
• Dedication to deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to calculate, communicate and document patient responsibility for all stages of care to patients.
• Excellent organization skills and ability to follow-through on all daily tasks.
• Coordinates and maintains needed referrals, predeterminations and preauthorization with department team lead.
• Problem solving skills and ability to act as a patient advocate to ensure highest levels of patient care.
• Manages physicians schedule on a daily basis.
• Assist with patient check-out, scheduling appointments and answering phones.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills when responding to financial questions related to testing and treatment from patients as needed.
• Enthusiasm to collaborate with your team or work on an individual basis as needed.
• Ability to be an advocate for your patients by being knowledgeable, empathetic, understanding and invested in their journey as part of their Care Team.
• Provide support for other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; college preferred.
• Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (Fertility/Infertility) clinic experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1-3 years work experience in a medical office.
• Experience/background in insurance navigation, advocacy and medical billing.
• Experience with working with sensitive health information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
