Patient Care Technician

Location: 39000 Bob Hope Drive Rancho Mirage, CA
Hours Per Week: 40
Hours Per Day: 8
Schedule Notes: Monday - Friday in a clinic setting travel may be required

Duties:

• Assists patients to exam/procedure rooms following standard work procedures.
• Obtains patient-reported medical and social history, vital signs, height and weight, patient-reported allergy information, and medication reconciliation information as needed, and records data in EHR (Electronic Health Record).
• Transcribes orders into the EHR, including films, x-rays, labs, and other studies accurately and in a timely manner.
• Processes patient referrals to other provider offices efficiently.
• Prepares patient EMR charts accurately and promptly.
• Gathers reports, labs, studies, or other pertinent data for upcoming patient appointments.
• Faxes and copies necessary information to insurance companies, other provider offices, and facilities as required.
• Records information accurately and promptly in the EHR.
• Takes phone messages professionally and efficiently.
• Prepares clinic charts in an organized manner.
• Manages in-basket messages and work queues effectively.
• Utilizes free time efficiently to clean and stock rooms, copy documents, and file paperwork.

Skills:

• Competently administers all department procedures, modalities, programs and protocols, consistent with training, written and oral communication skills.
• Requires effective communication skills in dealing with patients, families and co-workers.
• Licensure/Certification
• Required: American Heart Association BLS

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
