PCT Trainee Program Position Summary:
The Patient Care Technician Trainee is a temporary entry level position. The position exists to provide training to qualify the trainee for a Care Assistant position at MyMichigan Health- Alpena. Training provides educational knowledge and a defined skillset to ultimately provide trainees with an internal certification. The PCT Trainee will receive education to provide basic nursing care, communicate with patients, family members, and others on the healthcare team, and obtain the skills necessary to provide and assist with patients’ daily living activities. Training program materials are provided and training classes are paid.

A Day in the Life of a PCT Trainee at MyMichigan Health:
- (100%)* Satisfactorily complete the Patient Care Technician training program within two weeks of the date of hire or transfer into program.
Satisfactory completion will be achieved by:
·Attending class every day for the entire scheduled time
·Demonstrating competency of skills learned during class
·Achieving a score of 84% on all quizzes and tests
·Displaying the values of MyMichigan Health in all interactions with instructors, patients, family members and other members of the health care team.
Requirements We Are Looking For:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
