Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Staten Island, NY

Job Description:

Patient Care Technicians are healthcare professionals who assist with daily Patient Care tasks, such as monitoring vital signs, helping with activities of daily living, and ensuring patient comfort. They play a crucial role in supporting nurses and other medical staff to provide high-quality and compassionate care. Patient Care Technicians also contribute to maintaining accurate medical records and assisting during medical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Performs regular safety and status checks on clinical trial subjects housed on unit as determined by physician orders

• Performs basic lab procedures as delegated including but not limited to preparation of specimen tubes and labels, blood specimen collection, centrifuge operation, storing and shipping of lab specimens, accountability of specimens and notification of courier for specimen pick-ups

• Ensures that biological specimens are disposed of appropriately

• Additionally, this role may encompass responsibilities beyond those outlined above, as required by the evolving needs of the organization. This job description is intended as a foundation and may be subject to expansion or modification to best suit ERG's objectives.

Education/ Experience/ Certificates :

• High school Degree or equivalent

• One (1) year of Psych/clinical experience preferred

• CPR Certification required

• Phlebotomy certification (national) preferred
