Our medical team is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Patient Care Technician to join us. Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedures.
- Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
- Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
- Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and multitasking. Able to function under stressful situations.
- Answers telephone, intercom, and call lights politely using appropriate telephone etiquette and communicates information to the right staff/family/patient.
- Aid with movement and placement of patients.
- Assist patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
- Performs pre-census and validates daily admission, discharge, and census lists, on an as-needed basis.
- Observes and report all patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
- Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
- Serves as liaison between Patient Care units and all other patient-related departments.
Requirements
- Proof of COVID vaccination
- Ability to undergo criminal and drug background check
- Physical ability to stand for long periods of time and perform tasks such as lifting and moving patients
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
- At least 18 years old
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
