The Patient Care Technician will be assigned job duties to assist with the effectiveness and efficiency of the surgical experience of the patient. Under direction of RN’s, the assistant will prepare instruments 1. and supplies for surgical procedures and assist with Patient Care as needed.

6. Take initiative in helping team members to provide the best care for the patient.

B. JOB DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
OPERATING ROOM:
1. Run DART in autoclaves at the beginning of each day.
3. Assist with turnover after each procedure. Work with team members to insure the most efficient use of each member's time.
4. Wash instruments and set up trays.
5. Sterilize instruments between cases.
6. Assist in positioning and movement of patients under the direction of the OR nurse.
7. Organize supplies and equipment for surgical procedures, according to physician preference.
8. Terminally sterilize instruments at the end of the day.
9. Restock supplies in OR daily.
10. Keep workroom neat and clean. Order supplies for the workroom as needed.
12. Follow the IFU related to equipment and instrument use.
