Position Summary
Assist clinical team members by performing a variety of duties for patients within the patient focused care system and under the direction/supervision of a registered nurse. Additional responsibilities may include scheduling outpatient procedures, assisting prepping and posting patients. Assisting with prepping the rooms and room turn around. Assisting with insurance verification using good phone skills and interpersonal skills. Assumes, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.
Work Schedule - Full Time, 2 Nights positions and 2 Day positions.
Qualifications/Specifications
- Education: High school graduate or G.E.D certificate required. Completion of CNA program. PCPs working in the Emergency Department may have EMT certification in lieu of CNA program. Nursing students are automatically qualified if they are currently enrolled in a registered nursing program, have completed clinical rotation, and have successfully completed a medical-surgical course.
- Licensure/Certification: BLS certification required upon hire. Basic EKG skills required within 6 months of employment. Phlebotomy certification required for performing basic phlebotomy skills and performing blood glucose monitoring.
