The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate - Cardiac Access Unit- Ellison 11
Why This Role Is Important?
Ellison 11 is a thirty-six bed Cardiology Unit. Staff on this unit specializes in the care of patients with acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, heart failure and other vascular diagnoses. Most patients on this unit require coronary or peripheral procedures, either diagnostic or interventional. Patients who require electrophysiology studies or procedures may also be admitted to this unit. The nursing staff is highly regarded by physicians and other interdisciplinary colleagues for their clinical expertise in caring for patients at every point on the adult healthcare continuum by providing holistic, complex, and compassionate care. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate Patient Care environment. Ellison 11 is seeking a Full-time PCA, with Day and Evening availability, and to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage. Schedule- Day (7am-3pm / 7am-7pm), and Evening (3pm-11pm)
- 40 hours per week
- Rotational holiday and weekend schedule
- PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

- Required: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical Patient Care.
- Preferred: Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR
- Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of Patient Care rotations completed, at time of hire.
