The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate - Medical Unit- White 9
Why This Role Is Important?
White 9 is a twenty-five-bed acute care medical unit. A majority of patients are admitted directly from the Emergency Department and have single or multi-system problems including, but not exclusively, alterations in gas exchange, airway clearance, cardiac function, renal function, nutrition, hepatic function, skin integrity and mental states. Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate Patient Care environment. White 9 is seeking a full-time PCA, with Day and Night availability, and to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage. - Days (7a-3pm, 7a-7pm), and Night (11pm-7pm, 7pm-7am)
- 36-40 hours per week, rotational holiday and weekend schedule

- PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

- Required: Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical Patient Care.
- Preferred: Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR
- Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of Patient Care rotations completed, at time of hire.
