Nephrology practice includes the care of patients with impairment of renal function associated with complex diseases and disabilities. Treatments are provided in the following settings: a) eight station special care Hemodialysis Unit, b) Transplant Unit, c) Intensive Care Unit (s) (medical, surgical, neuro, pediatric, and cardiac) the patient's room if deemed medically necessary.
Patient Care Associate (PCA) opportunity is currently available on Bigelow 10, Dialysis Unit. PCA assists multi-disciplinary health care team by assisting patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKGs. Must be able to work rotating day/evening shifts and every other Saturday.
Certification as a Nursing Assistant or EMT at time of hire OR
Enrolled in a certification program to become a Nursing Assistant or EMT at time of hire OR
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
Enrolled in a nursing or pre-med undergraduate program with at least one semester of Patient Care rotations complete at time of hire OR
Successful completion of the Laboure College PCT program
