Job Summary
The Patient Care Assistant supports clinical services at DVCH. The Patient Care Assistant helps to maintain the clinical flow by escorting patients to the clinical area and performing additional tasks as requested by the Providers, Team Leaders, or Health Center Manager, all while providing outstanding care and respect to our patients.
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Bilingual in Spanish/English (Preferred)
- Medical Terminology (Preferred)
- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
Job Responsibilities
- Greet patients in the waiting room and walk them to their clinical service area (exam room, triage station, lab)
- Take Vital Signs: Height/Weight, Blood Pressure, Temperature (training to be provided)
- Additional clinical services, such as EKG, would be considered as applicant progresses
- Record medical and family history
- Give any instructions specific to the visit in preparation to the clinical team arriving in the room (instructing the patient to disrobe)
- Relay any information from the patient to the clinical team prior to the start of the visit.
- Request medical records and/or reports as needed
- Manage assigned tasks
- Answer and return phone calls
- Support the clinical team in the exam room preparation
- Replace table paper
- Wipe down all surfaces with proper cleaning products
- Any other as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
