Form of workIt's Time to Join Our TeamOur vision is "To be known as the most engaged and supportive organization in America."Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) is seeking a motivated and dynamic Patient Care Assistant to join one of the most advanced and refined healthcare systems.The Patient Care Assistant will join a private, not-for-profit community hospital that has spent 75 years committed to transforming care, advancing health, and improving lives.ResponsibilitiesUnder direct supervision of a licensed nurse, the Patient Care Assistant performs a variety of routine duties involving: Care of medically ill acute or sub-acute patients. Performs direct Patient Care. Observes and reports changes in the behavior and physical status of patients. Provides a clean and safe environment.Adittional Responsabilities of a Patient Care Assistant are: Assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, oral and denture care, skin and nail care, bed making, and maintaining a clean environment.). Promoting and maintaining mobility (ambulating, transferring, transporting, turning, positioning, lifting, and performing range of motion exercises). Assisting with nutrition and hydration (feeding and assisting patients with eating and drinking). Assisting with toileting and elimination (assisting with the use of bedpan/urinal/bedside commode, providing catheter care, and care of the incontinent patient). Performs data gathering and recognizes abnormal findings (measures and records vital signs, weight, oral intake, output including urine, emesis, and stool).Units Offered:After initial HR screening, candidates will be contacted for interview.Candidates may be offered interviews on the following units (availability fluctuates, and vacant positions are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis): Adult Medical/Surgical UnitsCritical Care and Step-down Units (ICU) Emergency Services Behavioral Health Unit Inpatient and Outpatient Rehab Units** Float PoolWork Hours/Shift: Full Time, Part-Time and FLEX available** Days, evenings or nights availableReports: Registered Nurse (RN)/Nurse Manager RN/Assistant Nurse ManagerSupervises: None ask the Unit Manager about eligibility/availability during the interview.QualificationsEducation: Required: High school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 18 years of age.Experience: Required: No previous experience required. Preferred: One (1) year of job-related experience.
