Patient Care Advocate in Patient Experience
Full-time, Dayshift, M-F
Job Description:
The Patient Care Advocate receives, handles, and responds to patient complaints/grievances and other needs.
Serves as a liaison by listening to concerns, identifying opportunities for improvement, and seeking solutions through the appropriate administrative channels. Collaborates with the healthcare team to improve Patient Care and promote positive patient, family, physician, and caregiver communication.
Serves as the Patient & Family Engagement (PFE) Coordinator, providing leadership to the Patient & Family Advisory Council.
Assists patients and the public with executing advance directives.
Coordinates operational tasks related to the patient experience survey process. Incumbent is public relations oriented and displays excellent interpersonal skills in all contacts with patients, families/representatives, employees, physicians, and others.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting with demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operations is required.
Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, and written), including ability to communicate with clients ranging in age from child to geriatric is required.
Ability to demonstrate sincere compassion, sympathy, empathy, and understanding for concerns of others is required.
Must possess good organizational skills, be adaptable, be able to manage conflict, and be able to work in stressful situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with customer relations, patient experience surveys, and developing and presenting educational programs is preferred.
Must either be a Notary Public or become a Notary Public within three months of entering position.
