Position Summary: Responsible for coordinating Patient Benefits including generating referrals, conducting pre-certifications, checking patient eligibility of multiple practices.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
- Minimum of two years experience generating referrals. Experience in similar specialty setting preferred
- Previous experience pre-certifying insurance benefits
- Previous experience checking patient insurance eligibility
- Minimum of two years previous coding experience
- Thorough knowledge managed care plan requirements and limitations
- Previous experience with practice management/medical billing computer programs required
- Computer registration and EMR experience preferred
- Previous Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word and Excel) experience referred
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Detailed oriented
- Ability to set priorities, document conversations and specific actions taken and apply appropriate policies and procedures
- Flexible, able to adapt to change
