Aeroflow Health – Patient Advocate

Location: Pelham, AL Office (Full-Time Onsite)

Aeroflow Sleep is taking the home health products and equipment industry by storm. We’ve set out to create a better way of doing business by prioritizing our customers, our community, and our coworkers. Now we’re looking for a Patient Advocate to join our team!

The Opportunity

Within Aeroflow, the Sleep Billing Team is currently composed of 13 team members.

  • The main focus of the team is to collect outstanding debt from health insurance or patients.
  • The patients that we serve are patients that receive continuous positive airway and non-invasive ventilation equipment and supplies from Aeroflow Sleep.
  • Sleep Billing is unique in that we have 3 teams within the one. One team consists of Patient Advocates who are the face of Aeroflow Sleep Billing. The second team is composed of junior and senior insurance specialists and the third team is our Prior Authorization team.

Your Primary Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Patient Advocate. A Patient Advocate is typically responsible for:

  • Assisting patients with billing/insurance/account operation needs
  • High volume inbound and outbound phone work
  • Insurance verification
  • Clearly convey adjudicated claims and explanation of benefits to patients
  • Verification of required medical documentation
  • Provide excellent customer service through phone calls and emails
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Employees have an individual responsibility for knowledge of and compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Compliance is a condition of employment and is considered an element of job performance

Skills for Success

  • High volume inbound and outbound phone work
  • Self-disciplined, ability to multitask, excellent critical thinking skills, research, and work cohesively as team member
  • A proven work history illustrating stability and reliability
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Google/Gmail proficiency

You might also have

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional, composed manner.
  • Insurance, billing and/or accounts receivable experience preferred
  • Previous office experience preferred
  • Multi-phone line experience is preferred
