Parts Runner

Pay range is dependent on experience. We will pay extremely competitively for the right candidate.

The Company: Prime Auto USA is an independent used car dealership located in Jackson, TN with a full sales team, finance team, client success team and service team with a total of just under 50 employees and selling just under 100 cars per month. We provide automotive reconditioning to cars that are being prepared to sell including an 80 point inspection as well as on-going repairs for our free 6 month 6,000 mile limited warranty and customer pay work. Porters report to the Service Manager or to whom the Service Manager directs. They have the following responsibilities:

• Run to different parts stores in town to retrieve parts for technicians
• Assist with lot maintenance such as driving cars around for the service team
• Deliver messages or documents from the service advisors or parts team to other staff members
• Check and maintain parts inventory
• Any other miscellaneous "Gofer" tasks that may be required of you

Job Description: As the Porter you will play an extremely important role in customer satisfaction and the overall continued success of our company. In this role, you are responsible for inventory management and will perform various tasks and errands for the service department. These are the qualities we are looking for in this position:

• Ability to accurately follow instructions
• An independent self-starter
• Ability to drive and navigate to different areas and stores in town
• Utilize all available technology and tools required to complete tasks as prescribed by the Service Staff.
• Capability to properly, accurately and timely complete the task described independently.

Duties: The Porter is responsible to adhere to and demonstrate their ability to be proficient in the above listed requirements for the position for which they are employed.

It is typical for the Porter to complete the following work daily:

• Login to Paychex and Rapid Recon to report time worked and what work is completed.
• Maintain the shop, lot and interior of building clean and orderly. This will require mowing grass, trimming hedges, cutting limbs and trees, emptying trash receptacles and taking trash out and cleaning facilities as needed to maintain a clean orderly environment.
• Assist technicians in any way requested such as picking up parts, dropping and picking cars up, detailing cars, assisting technicians in their task and anything that will increase the flow, safety and efficiency of the shop.

Expected Results:

• The activities listed above are to result in:
• The team achieving a minimum of 1 to 2 cars produced per technician per day, as an average.
• Completing work within a reasonable time frame based on industry averages.
• Completing work in a quality manner such that cars are not found to have deficiencies prior to selling or shortly after selling that should have been found in the diagnosis and subsequently repaired prior to sale or at the time work is completed for a customer.
• As a team, ensuring that customers receive their cars back within no more than 7 days or 5 working days.

Minimum Requirements for Employment:

• Demonstrated abilities utilizing technology the company utilizes accurately, timely and consistently.
• A High School Diploma/GED.
• Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and a driving record allowing to qualify for our insurance.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old for company insurance purposes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
