Parts Department Manager

Responsibilities will include selling parts, supervising the Parts Department members, monitoring department expenses relating to freight charges, supplies and stock orders, filing claims as needed, and overall inventory control.

Must have 3 plus years’ experience in sales and inventory management, as well as knowledge of material handling parts and related products and services. Applicant must be a self-starter, possess strong leadership skills, and have the ability to maintain good customer and member relations.

Manages parts operations within the dealership to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales, inventory control, and expense control. Optimizes Parts Department processes. Attracts, retains, and effectively manages department personnel.

Job Responsibilities

Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction

Assist as needed in all areas within the Parts Department

Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position

Job Requirements

• Experience effectively leading others
• Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, company business systems and internet functions
• Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
• Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Parts Department operations
• Ability to work extended hours as needed for department
• Excellent customer service skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience

· Mechanical knowledge and hands-on heavy equipment experience
