Responsibilities and requirements:
- Primary responsibilities are working with technicians and service advisors.
- You will be working with three car lines and will be expected to become proficient in all aspects of each, through on-the-job training as well as online courses required by the manufacturer
- CDK experience is a plus but not required. Positive attitude and willingness to learn are more important than CDK experience
- Follow up on all special order parts with technicians, service advisors, and the BDC staff.
- Understand sales and gross profit formulas and quickly be able to perform calculations when needed
- Source parts from multiple vendors quickly and efficiently
- Perform daily perpetual inventory counts
- Working closely with the assistant manager to raise awareness of backorder and out of stock parts
- You may be required to cover or assist with shipping/receiving duties, when needed
- You may be required to cover the retail counter, when needed
- Obtain and process technicians and customer parts orders, including receiving deliveries and registering them within the dealership
- Maintain the dealership stockroom by organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items on a regular basis
- Schedule shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items
- Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers
- Resolve shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and communicate with Managers in order to resolve those issues or complaints
Parts Counterperson qualifications and requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organization and administrative skills
- Integrity and leadership skills
- Exemplary customer care skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills
- Detail-oriented and multitasking skills
- Proven experience navigating various computer systems; CDK and dealership experience a plus
- Currently the position is Monday-Friday 8.5 hours per day. Schedule is subject to change based on long term forecasting for our business
- You must be able to work standing and moving up and down stairs multiple hours at a time during the workday
- Forklift certification is a plus
