Role: Partnership Sales Manager

Reports to: Global Sales Director

Location: Remote (US - preferably Chicago based)

sueprtri, formerly known as Super League Triathlon, is the world’s premier swim-bike-run Series, pitching the very best athletes against each other in quick and exciting race formats in fantastic destinations across the globe.

Formed in 2017 by CEO Michael D’hulst and four time triathlon World Champion Chris McCormack, supertri has taken a sport that had remained largely unchanged since its inception and reinvented it for the present day.

In addition to the Pro Racing Series, supertri owns and runs the iconic Chicago Triathlon, as well as the Long Beach Legacy Triathlon in Los Angeles. These events serve as the perfect platform to achieve our ambition of reviving short course racing in the USA.

/// The Role

supertri is looking for a Partnership Sales Manager to drive sponsorship, supplier and exhibitor revenue for its growing mass participation events business, with a key focus on the Chicago Triathlon.

The Partnership Sales Manager is responsible for discovering and initiating new partnerships and prospecting potential brand partners that generate revenue or cost relieving value to the events. This role will also be responsible for negotiating the successful renewals and growth of existing partner and supplier relationships as part of a small but growing US based team. The right candidate will have a strong understanding of the Chicago market.

The Aim: to maximise the value of sponsor, supplier and exhibitor partnerships across the Chicago and Long Beach Triathlon, building strong relationships with key decision makers at our partners and prospective partners will be key to success in this role.

This role will require a strong understanding of the events’ partnership proposition and the ability to create strong proposals that deliver ROI. The successful candidate will understand the importance of becoming an expert in the triathlon demographic and how to link this into their sales process.

/// Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue - Maximise all potential revenue opportunities to exceed targets
  • Lead Generation - Consistently identify target brands and generate meetings with budget holders through various channel
  • Insights & Data - Undertaking desk based research into potential partnership prospects and brand categories
  • Proposals - Responsible for creating proposals focused on client’s business objectives and demonstrate clearly the value exchange
  • Collaboration - working with the UK based sales team, and other departments at Super League Triathlon (including marketing and operations) to create and evolve valuable partnership assets
  • CRM Systems - Maintain day to day management of the CRM system, sales pipeline, forecasting accurate sales activity
  • Activation and Partner Servicing - Account management of current partners to ensure contractual delivery is achieved and exceeded

/// Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • 2 years + experience in sales with a proven sales track record during this time
  • Highly independent, performance-driven, and efficient operator
  • A growth mindset, desire to learn quickly and identify new opportunities
  • Strong awareness of the full sales lifecycle from outreach - negotiation - activation - renewal, and strong understanding of partnership ROI
  • Proactive and self-sufficient in driving relationships with prospective partners
  • Ability to hold a room and deliver presentations that clearly demonstrate ROI
  • Challenger Rights Holder mindset - looking for a creative mind-set to demonstrate how a brand can use this as an effective marketing platform

/// Additional Beneficial Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Experience working within the endurance space is preferred but not essential
  • Proficient in Google business tools - sheets, slides, docs
  • Digital content sales experience / or understanding of the power of content

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
