JOB SUMMARY:
The Youth Support Specialist provides skill building and support to youth through individualized goals. Services can include individual and/or group sessions, structured recreational activities to build social skills, crisis intervention, school support, and parent contact.
Our programming also provides provides services to youth who have been re-unified with their family after being placed in an out-of-home setting. Youth Support Specialists work closely with identified families to address concerns including: safety, parenting, and coaching strategies to effectively deescalate aggressive behaviors. Additionally, Youth Support Specialists may provide support and assistance with the following supportive skills and resources: household management, nutrition, safe and stable housing, community referral, education, employment, medical, mental health and substance abuse issues.
This is a great position for experienced professionals or recent graduates, seeking part-time weekend hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE YOUTH SUPPORT SPECIALIST:
- Analyze youth histories and capabilities to determine the services required to meet the unique needs of youth.
- Implement and evaluate youth goals in collaboration with team members, youth, and their families.
- Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for youth in school, the community and during emergency and crisis situations.
- Attend youth and family team meetings.
- Report youth progress to the Outagamie County Department of Human Services.
- Facilitate structured recreational activities that assist youth in developing pro-social skills and connections.
- Safely transport clients as needed.
LOCATION: Office is located in Appleton, WI. Local travel is required to meet with clients within the home. Must be able to meet in-person with families located in Outagamie County, Wisconsin.
SCHEDULE: Saturday and Sunday, some weekdays may become available as needed

SALARY: $19.00 per hour
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
- Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
