The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student-Engine Aftertreatment Continuous Improvement for Product Engineering Center located in Waterloo, IA, you will:
- Execute test or analysis planning to screen returned parts (from warranty and field testing)
- Conduct investigations (from field information) for part return dispositions
- Coordinate part returns to supplier for failure analysis
- Document, organize, and visualize test data to report trends
This position is not available to students on immigration visas
What Skills You Need
- Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in an Engineering discipline; others may apply
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a local (Iowa) accredited college/university
- Graduation date of May 2026 or later
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
- Able to commute to the work location in Waterloo, Iowa, on a weekly basis year-round (NOTE: Relocation assistance is not provided)
- Able to work 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year and 35 - 40 hours/week during breaks
- Intermediate proficiency with Office 365 products, or equivalent
- Ability to be self-motivated and work independently while learning new methods and processes
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience in engineering analysis and troubleshooting tools (e.g. digital multi meter, and pressure gauge)
- Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Intermediate proficiency in technical systems
- Experience design and troubleshooting in electro-mechanical system
