Job Description
As a Splash Pad Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our guests at our aquatic facility. From greeting guests with a smile to enforcing facility rules and regulations, your job is to ensure that every visit is safe and enjoyable. You will be responsible for preparing nightly deposits from the snack area. You may also be required to schedule staff and make daily operations assignments to ensure minimum staffing for safety. You will also be expected to train newly hired attendants in the safe operation of the Splash Pad equipment, including appropriate and indicated testing of water quality.
Work hours will vary according to your availability and the operating hours of the Splash Pad. There will be some required weekends and evenings. The Splash Pad is anticipated to operate from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 8:00 pm on Saturday and 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Sunday. There may be additional hours available for private rentals and parties.
This position is supervised by the Director of Parks and Recreation. This position supervises Splash Pad Attendant (Rover) positions.
PAYRATE: $13.00 PERHOUR

Job Duties
  • Greets the public and answers questions in a friendly manner
  • Responds to inquiries from employees, customers, and guests, or refers them to appropriate staff for further assistance
  • Assists in the completion of paperwork such as accident/incident reports, daily activity reports, etc.
  • Assists the public with information on how to reserve the Splash Pad and/or picnic pavilion for private events
  • Helps prevent accidents and allows for enjoyment of the facility by all patrons through the fair and consistent enforcement of policies, rules, and regulations governing the Splash Pad Park
  • Cooperatively works with other staff to ensure a professional and enjoyable work environment
  • Perform daily cleaning/organization duties
  • Restock restrooms and snack area
  • Completes routine inventory of supplies and snack item
  • Processes payments for snack and drink items
  • Administers first aid to visitors, guests, and other staff
  • Prepare nightly cash deposits
  • Plans and develops schedules for Splash Pad Attendants and Supervisors to ensure minimum staffing requirements
  • Orders supplies for bathrooms, chemicals for water treatment, and items for snack bar, maintain inventory of items on hand
  • Monitor and maintain chlorine levels in water according to manufacturer’s recommendation
  • Additional water and equipment testing as recommended by the manufacturer
  • Troubleshoot minor issues with equipment, including bathroom, snack area, and water features
  • Notify Maintenance of significant problems with equipment
  • Additional duties as assigned or requested
  • Helps prevent accidents and allows for enjoyment of the facility by all patrons through the fair and consistent enforcement of policies, rules, and regulations governing the Splash Pad Park
  • Provides high quality customer service by being friendly, tactful, and courteous, maintaining an alert and professional posture at all times (dress and hygiene)
  • Provides training for newly hired attendants and supervisors
  • Collects and submits timesheets for employees according to City policy

Must be at least 18 years of age on opening day (May 24, 2024)
Current Certified Pool Operator Certification, or the ability to obtain within 2 weeks of hire
Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work

Knowledge
General knowledge of cashiering, including making change and preparing receipts for deposit

Must be able to work under pressure and be willing to diplomatically confront users not following park rules
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for long periods (hours) and be able to lift at least 20 pounds frequently
Possess the physical and mental capacity to perform all essential functions of the position
Must be at least 18 years of age on opening day (May 24, 2024)
Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work
  • Finalist must submit to a Background Check, Drug Screening. EOE

Preferred Qualifications
Current first-aid and CPR certification is recommended but not required to gain employment.
Current certification in (or ability to achieve) Certified Pool Operator (CPO) desired

Physical Demands
Work in this position is described as lightly strenuous. An employee must be able to perform the basic life operational support functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching above shoulder level, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. The work of this position will be exposed to outdoor hazards, including extremes in temperature, significant weather events, and working with chlorine.
