This individual also oversees the night audit operation to ensure closing of the night is done properly and accurately.
THE ROLE
The Maintenance Tech reports to the Chief Engineering and will primarily focus on painting duties throughout the hotel. As a working engineer, this position is required to be hands-on and dive into the day-to-day operation, service and repairs of hotel equipment, so if you prefer to “see the forest” and not willing to “plant the trees”, this is not a role for you. The role will also actively develop trusting and transparent relations with fellow associates of the hotel. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Apply paint, stain and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers. Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats. Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting. Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs. Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas. Coordinate with vendor in order to modify colors of paint, stain, or varnish.

- Previous painting experience required.
- Handle routine maintenance, repairs and cleanliness in guest rooms, public spaces, event space, outlets, back of house spaces and grounds.
- Demonstrate familiarity with the hotel’s safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the hotel.
- Participate in the room preventative maintenance program.
- Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment and furnishings as needed.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards; Participate in all scheduled training classes and meetings
- Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs
- Assist in delivery and setup of all new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.
- Communicate with Director on projects as assigned
- Respond to all guest requests in a timely and personable manner
- Must possess a high standard of a safe and clean working environment.
- Preferred Experience with Drywall, Framing and Painting.
- Proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work by yourself, self-motivating, and be a cooperative team member.
- Ability to work varied shifts, that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
