Part-time Overnight Staff

Job Title: Part-Time Overnight Staff of Lockport C.A.R.E.S, Inc. Emergency Homeless Shelter.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time position, potentially 3-4 days a week overnight coverage for the 11pm to 7am shift for Lockport CARES emergency shelter. Lockport CARES is a faith-based, community supported not-for-profit. Applicant must be available various days, weekends and holidays, may include some afternoon and morning shifts. This person will help provide the service needed to help the homeless, who stay at the shelter, with compassion, dignity and respect.

Hourly Rate $15.50

Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or GED

2. Overnight work experience helpful

Reports to Shelter Manager

Additional Qualifications

· Dedication to providing support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness;

· The ability to provide crisis intervention when necessary;

· Able to communicate clearly to guests and volunteers in any situation;

· Commitment to be on time and cover scheduled shifts.

· Able to be flexible with schedule.

Essential Functions & Duties

· Ensure security of shelter and safety of guests;

· Maintain a safe environment for guests in shelter;

· Complete duties as listed on shift responsibility list;

· Stock inventory;

· Be flexible in your schedule to meet the needs of shelter;

· Report all incidence of child abuse/neglect to Lockport CARES Shelter Manager;

· Report any illegal or unsafe activity;

· Respect guest confidentiality;

· Be sensitive to cultural diversity and respectful of all guests regardless of their beliefs or practices;
