Part Time Optician Trainee

Looking to hire an Optician Trainee in a busy optometrist office is available immediately in Elkton, MD. We are seeking an enthusiastic, Part-Time Optician Trainee, with strong customer service and communication skills, The right candidate is focused and goal driven, with a positive and professional attitude to provide the best experience for the patient. Must be flexible with schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Providing patients with a positive experience
• Helping patients select a frame from our fashion forward selection.
• Verifying and helping patients understand their insurance benefits
• Interpreting prescription and assisting patients with eyeglass frame and lens options
• Taking optical measurements necessary for eyewear orders
• Ordering from laboratories and maintaining communication with lab and patients
• Quality inspecting and dispensing of eyewear
• Troubleshooting eyewear to eliminate patient concerns and making adjustments accordingly
• Maintain organized appearance of optical dispensary
• Contact lens training on insertion, removal and care
• Keeping the office clean

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Answer phone calls and obtain accurate patient information when scheduling
• Insurance verification for upcoming appointments
• Contact patients before appointments with a friendly reminder
• Greet patients when they arrive and check them in

Experience:

• None Required, on the job training

Education:

• High school or equivalent
• Experience NOT necessary.

Must be notified by a staff member in order to come in to fill out application! Again this is a PART-TIME position and you MUST be flexible with our practice hours. We will train.
