Job Description:
As a Part-Time Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for working with students in grades K-12 to promote their physical, emotional, and cognitive development. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. This is a part-time position, offering up to 20 hours per week, with a commitment for the entire school year.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students' unique needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct and consultative OT services to students to help them achieve their goals.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to support students' educational progress.
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation in accordance with school policies.
- Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of students' educational plans.
- Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in the field of occupational therapy.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Massachusetts.
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Previous experience working in a school or pediatric setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication to the success and well-being of students.
