General Position Summary

Responsible for opening and closing procedures at the Dublin Park Facility, operation of Dublin Park building to include admission to facility, manning of the front desk, managing of building, securing of building, Kid's Kingdom and Park gates. Position performs all responsibilities of overseeing basic operation of Dublin Park after regular business hours, procedures for admission to Dublin Park, room setup, management of building, security of all doors, gates, etc., associated with Dublin Park.
Examples of Responsibilities
- Performs opening procedures to include turning on all office equipment and all lights, unlocking doors, etc.
- Locks/Unlocks gate to Soccer Fields and Kids Kingdom restrooms.
- Verify operating monies and place in specific drawer.
- Answer incoming calls, gives information as needed; forwards calls and/or takes and forwards messages when necessary.
- Greet and assist patrons with information needed pertaining to Parks and Recreation and the City of Madison in general.
- Update information book and literature wall.
- Processes new and renewal memberships into computer membership program to include taking pictures for photo i.d. and printing receipts.
- Assist in completion of paperwork for memberships, registrations, room rentals, etc.
- Enter all revenue into RecTrac Software on computer.
- Verify all membership cards and/or payment of appropriate fees.
- Verify all entrees to the facility including sign in sheets and proper arm banding.
- Maintain sign in sheets on counter.
- Accepts and verifies completed swim waiver forms and enters new waivers into computer database on Recreation server.
- Perform closing procedures to include turning off all equipment and all lights, securing monies, building, etc.
- Report all necessary repairs and concerns to supervisor.
- Turn on/off lights at Dublin Park, including tennis courts, soccer fields, etc. when a Recreation Aide is not available.
- Patrol building, observe activities and look for any situation that does not appear normal, investigate source of suspected activities to determine trespassing.
- Strong background record required due to accessibility to employee and city property, patron information, general public and children.
- Normal office working conditions.
- May require occasional overtime/extra hours work.
- May require work in an environment where there are temperature fluctuations, noise, poor ventilation, dirt, dust, etc.
- Must be able to working varying hours, extended hours, weekend and holidays, and at times with little or no notice, etc.
- Must maintain a strong driving record for city insurance purposes and record may be checked periodically by the City.
Minimal Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong background record required, due to accessibility to employee and city property and working with children.
- Strong work history of dependability and performance.
- Experience working with the general public and children preferred.
- Experience in general office duties, computer experience, answering of phone, communicating with the general public, etc
- Drivers license and strong driving record required for use of city vehicle.

- Ability to hear well enough to understand normal conversation, use telephone and to hear persons from a distance (hearing aid acceptable).
- Speak well enough to communicate with employees, supervisors and patrons and to be heard from a distance.
- Use of hands and fingers to type, write, file, operate equipment, secure park, etc.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
Retirement Systems of Alabama (RSA) participation is mandatory for part-time employees who work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Part-time employees are not eligible for other benefits or leave time.
