Job description

Summary

The Food & Beverage Manager directs and oversees all aspects of the property’s food
and Beverage planning and service, with duties to include menu planning and
costs, preparation and presentation of Food and drinks, and adherence to
quality and safety standards. Also responsible for planning, coordinating, and
overseeing special events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Always approaches all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and
service-oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.

- Promotes a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner.

- Engages and creates a positive experience for guests.

- Manage and oversee the entire restaurant operation.

- Develops and monitor the operating budget for each of the department’s revenue outlets and takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that budget goals are
attained.

- Ensures that effective orientation and training for new staff and professional
development are planned and implemented.

- Inspects to ensure that all safety, sanitation, energy management, preventive
maintenance, and other standards are consistently met.

- Ensures that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are in
place and utilized.

- Helps plan and approves external and internal marketing and sales promotion
activities for the Food and Beverage department.

- Plan and develop guest loyalty programs.

- Orders and maintains adequate supplies and inventory on a weekly basis.

- Control costs and minimize waste and product loss.

- Prepares and serves Food and Beverages as needed.

- Manages all restaurant positions, including scheduling, developing, and coaching
employees.

- Utilizes POS system to accurately charge customers, track revenue reports and ensure
timeliness of Food and Beverage.

-Completion of monthly forecast.

- Organize and attend weekly F & B meetings and Department Head meetings.

- Assist in menu planning and pricing.

- Research new products and develop an analysis of the cost/profit benefits.

- Maintain Food and Beverage personnel records.

- Develops and implements policies and procedures for Food and Beverage departments.

- Monitors purchasing and receiving procedures for products and supplies to ensure proper quantity, quality, and price for all purchases.

-Maintains a friendly attitude, attending all guests in an efficient and prompt
manner.

-Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Food and Beverage products, menus, and
promotions.

- Provides guests with information about facilities, attractions, and activities in or
outside the property.

-Organizes special functions and events for the restaurant.

- Stays current and up to date with all hotel’s special events.

- Projects a professional manner with an emphasis on hospitality and guest service.

- Handles guest complaints and solve problem to the degree possible.

- Performs any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum 4 years of restaurant management experience required; hospitality industry
preferred.

3. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled
form.

4. Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with
guests and team members.

5. Knowledge of reservation and POS systems.

6. Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software preferred.

7. Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented.

8. Must be a team player.

9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high degree of autonomy.

vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position demands physical and mental
health.

- The position occasionally requires the employee to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
and smell. The employee will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull,
and work a flexible schedule including long hours, holidays, and weekends. Must
be able to move continuously during work hours and to lift up to 50 pounds.
