Job Summary
Pittsburgh, PA | Fox chapel
- Start Date: February 2024
- Hours: Schedule similar to Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm; Guaranteed 36 hours/week
- Hourly Rate: $24-26/hr
- Children: 2 kids (3.5-years-old & newborn)
- Pets: Friendly Golden Retriever
- Paid Vacation: One week nanny’s choice, one week family’s choice, 3 sick/personal days, all holidays
Responsibilities and Duties
- WHO/WHAT: Do you see the glass half full, want every Friday half off, and think open communication is half the battle? Two bustling professionals seek an energetic long-term nanny to become part of their adventurous family. The sky’s the limit for the right person, as this quartet loves to travel, and—although saying “yes” is 100% optional—the nanny will be invited to join. Mom and Dad often work from home in dedicated areas but stressed that they won’t encroach into your space. Start and end times are flexible, but ideally, your shifts would be Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. The athletic three-year-old will be in school or away at activities for a large portion of your work time which means the newborn baby will guzzle up most of your attention. Just a few weeks old, you’ll hold, comfort, feed, burp, change, and guide this cutie-pie’s naptimes. When the three-year-old is around, you’ll grab the baby and shapeshift into a singing and dancing trio. Or head outside for a bubble-blowing competition, then over to the playground to give the giggly siblings a push on the swings. There’s a big friendly dog, but you don’t have to worry about any pet care. You’ll also partner with the parents to keep the place tidy, help with the laundry, restock nursery supplies, wash bottles, and assist with light meal prep. Healthy food choices are encouraged, there are no allergies, and nothing’s off-limits. Using your own vehicle, you’ll also share pick-up and drop-off duties for the toddler’s school and extracurricular activities. These welcoming parents intend for this role to extend for years. They’re happy to accommodate the right nanny and ideally want someone who’ll gently transition into the role as they end their maternity/paternity leave in March. It’s strongly preferred that you can swim as this outdoorsy foursome spends a lot of time by the water. Most importantly, you’re loving and nurturing, and deeply enjoy planning activities, organizing playgroups, exploring the great outdoors, and simply spending time with the littlest ones.
