SalaryBoyce Thompson Arboretum seeks experienced and energetic Membership and Database Associates to provide administrative support to our Membership and Development teams, process membership sales, and provide customer service to our members and visitors. The ideal candidates will have strong organizational and computer skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of people and personalities. They must be self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their work and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment. This position will be on-site in our Membership Office, which is open to the public.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with all aspects of membership including selling memberships, processing payments, and printing and mailing membership cards
- Assist with data entry and maintaining database of members, donors, and event attendees
- Provide customer service for members and visitors in-person, over the phone, and via email
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of Membership Office and inventory of supplies
- Maintain operations and repairs of copiers, printers, computers, and credit card machines
- Perform daily cash counts and balance cash drawer
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, and customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills
- Excellent computer and typing skills including experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Experience with Blackbaud Altru or Raiser's Edge a plus
- Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, establish priorities, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school degree or equivalent
- 2+ years' experience in an administrative and/or customer service-based position
