Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supports physicians in the provision of compassionate, efficient patient care
Ensures readiness of examining room: cleanliness and availability of supplies
Triages patients and reports to physicians
Greets patients and schedules appointments for ancillary services as needed
Provides appropriate medical instructions and counseling to patients
Manages records; keeps track of abnormal lab results and documents test requests
Cleans instruments used in providing patient care, ensuring proper sterilization
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Interacts with patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner
Demonstrates sensitivity to cultural differences
Displays a positive attitude in support of our programs and mission
Fosters mature professional relationships with fellow employees
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
We see this role as a caregiver as well as a medical professional. Some relevant backgrounds:
Clinic experience (Vet tech, Dental Hygienist, Physical Therapist); eldercare support assistant, Nanny, or FoH service industry professional.
Pre-med and other postgraduate students are encouraged to apply
2 - 5 years experience.
Native computer/software user.
Detail-oriented and holds grace under pressure in fast-paced environments.
Energetic, challenge-driven, personable, and responsible with a professional demeanor.
Dependable and punctual
Medical terminology and insurance knowledge is helpful, but this can be learned on the job.
Ability to multitask and prioritize.
Importantly, This is a "lead" MA role -- personality and ability to manage others are key!
