Job description

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

To perform this job, an individual must accomplish each essential function satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation.  

• Provide clerical support for various Health Plan teams, including Utilization Management, Administration and Appeals & Grievances

• Process all incoming and outgoing mail

• Prepare, gather, label and send written communication to Plan providers, members and others 

• Maintain logs and paperwork for follow up and tracking purposes

• Print, scan and file Plan materials

• Answer incoming telephone calls and greet visitors as needed 

• Other duties as assigned 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

• Ability to understand and follow written guidelines pertaining to regulations and compliance

• Maintain HIPAA compliance

• Prioritize and respond to emergent situations, taking appropriate actions within scope

• Ability to learn new software systems

• Required to be in the office M-F, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

• Successful completion of required training

• Handle multiple priorities effectively

• Reliable transportation

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS: 

• Superior written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams)

Required Computer Software/Equipment used:

• Various operating systems

• Standard office equipment

• Microsoft Suite applications 

• Desktop, laptop and/or iPad

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Education: 

o High school diploma required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Does not have supervisory responsibilities 

• Supervisor frequently determines priorities

• Occasionally needs manager’s direction due to extraordinary circumstances

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:  

• Audio-Visual: Good 

• Hearing:  Good  

• Ability to lift to 30 pounds

• Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling

• Work is typically performed in a standard office environment; well-lit; comfortable temperature-controlled

• Above-average conversational noise is frequent

• Position may require flexible hours, unscheduled overtime or occasional week-end work

• Must be able to speak and write in English

• Travel may be required
