This posting will be used to fill two part-time Library Technician positions located at the Switzer Library. One position will be working with teens in Public Services and should enjoy crafting, gaming, technology and have knowledge of STEM programs. The other position is located in the Technical Operations division and will be processing library materials for 15 locations in the library system.
The position in the Technical Operations division will work up to 18 hours per week Monday-Friday only. The position working with teens will work 18 hours per week including some nights and weekends, and work 4 hours on scheduled Sunday's from 1:00p-5:00p.
Essential Functions
Circulation/information services including: checking books in and out; registering patrons for library cards; registering patrons for voter registration cards.
Take fines for overdue books.
Assist in keeping daily statistics.
Develops and maintains a working knowledge about the organization and care of library materials, library services and programs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; supplemented by six or more months work experience involving public interaction/customer service. Experience using personal computers, projectors, electronic devices such as e-readers, standard office equipment and software applications and good computer skills required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for the job.
Preferred Qualifications- Previous library experience.
- Experience processing library materials preferred.

Physical Abilities
Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
