Warren-Newport Public Library has two (2) immediate openings in our Circulation Department. Are you a book lover with a knack for organization? Position averages 10 hours a week and starts at $14.00 an hour. Scheduled Hours:
- 2 nights from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., schedule TBD
- One weekend a month; Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday hours are from Labor Day to Memorial Day. Sunday hours paid at time and half.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Feeds and sorts returned materials to conveyor belt. Sorts materials onto shelving carts in correct order.
- Sorts, shelves, straightens, and shifts library materials.
- Inspects returned materials and pulls items in obvious need of repair.
- Performs shelf reading as assigned to make sure library titles are placed on shelves in correct order.
- Checks, straightens and restocks materials on displays.
- Helps prepare the library facilities for program use.
- Periodically cleans public and staff spaces to maintain a sanitary and tidy environment.

Requirements:Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Successful completion of pre-employment test on arranging items in numerical and alphabetical order.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires a full range of body motion including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires bending, stooping, and reaching in order to move library materials throughout the library.
- Must be able to move a two-sided book cart loaded with up to 100 lbs. of books or other library materials.
- Must possess manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination when moving library materials or operating automated equipment at the library.
- Must be able to lift boxes of books, paper, or other materials weighing up to 40 lbs.
