Part Time Library Assistant

Job Details

The Town has a part-time Library Assistant position available within the South Kingstown Public Library system for someone to work an average of 14.5 hours per week seasonally. The position schedule is: Tuesday 2:30pm to 6pm, Wednesday 5pm to 8pm, Thursday 3pm to 6pm and Saturdays 12pm to 5pm. There will be no Saturday hours in the summer.

A person in this is a part-time position performs a variety of basic library functions under the direct supervision of a branch librarian or circulation supervisor. The work involves all aspects of circulation desk duties, shelving returned materials, registering patrons for library cards, answering the telephone and directing patrons to specific materials in the building or to the reference librarians. The employee has direct contact with patrons and other staff. To qualify you must have a high school diploma or GED, be dependable, detail oriented, and have a pleasant, helpful manner. The position pays $14 per hour.
