POSITION:


LECTURER IN COMMUNICATION STUDIES: The Department of Communication Studies invites applications for a pool of part-time teaching appointments. Candidates selected will teach one or more of the following COMM courses in the GE program onsite at the Turlock Campus (this is not a remote position): Public Speaking, Group Discussion Processes, Introduction to Mass Media, Introduction to Communication, and Argumentation & Critical Thinking. This position is contingent upon the availability of authorized funding.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Master’s degree in Communication Studies or closely related field.
Evidence of prior successful teaching experience at the college level is
preferred.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in Communication Studies or closely related field. Successful and effective college-level teaching experience.

COMPENSATION:


Commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a member of the 23-campus CSU System, we offer an extremely competitive benefits package.

Newly hired lecturers with terminal degrees are placed in Range 3 of the salary schedule and others are normally placed in Range 2. Starting salaries are usually at or near the minimum of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules are prorated based on the number of units assigned and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CLEARANCE NOTICE


The university requires a criminal and/or child abuse background check to be completed for many of its new employees, current employees seeking promotional or transfer opportunities, and current employees assigned new duties. Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
