About Cellmate Solution, Inc.: Cellmate Solutions, Inc. was established with a focus on meal programs for individuals, offering healthier options, following dietary requirements dictated by religion and health requirements, and providing Administrative Management solutions for those in charge of meal program.
We deliver meals, beverages, and self-care managed through a Cellmate proprietary, industry leading software application, provided through the kitchen and are looking for a Kitchen Cook/Supervisor to perform and oversee a variety of food service tasks in the kitchen at the direction of the Kitchen Manager. Coordinate and schedule the work of resident workers (trustee, inmate, residents) in the kitchen in performing the tasks of meal preparation, cooking, serving, and cleanup to meet county standards. Ensure that County procedures are followed at all times.
About the position:
- $16.00 per hour

Qualifications:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, to bend, reach, and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to use weights and measures outlined on a conversion chart.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Ability of follow instructions.
- Knowledge of Food Service standards, methods, practices, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to explain instructions and guidelines to others effectively.
- Ability to train and assign work to employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, without limitation:
- Coordinates the work of resident workers (trustee, inmate, residents) to create stability and consistency within the operation including food preparation/cooking, sanitation, and housekeeping in all prep, storage, freezer, cooler, and reach-in areas.
- Ensures that all food products are prepared to company recipes and standards for general feeding, medically enforced diets, special events, conferences, and caterings.
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels at all times including utilization, rotation, and storage.
- Responsible for receiving all merchandise to ensure quality and consistency.
- Responsible for orientation of new inmate/resident workers assigned to area of responsibility.
- Responsible for presenting approved disciplinary action on all resident workers (trustee, inmate, residents) with the direction of the Kitchen Manager.
- Responsible for audit awareness and working with the Kitchen Manager to correct any issues as they arise.
- Work with Kitchen Manager to prepare operations for DOC inspections (will have a quarterly mock DOC inspection to measure processes, policies, finances, and staff adherence to company objectives.)
- Reports information regarding resident workers (trustee, inmate, residents), facilities, equipment, on a daily basis.
- Has direct interactive contact with customer on site.
- Responsible for communicating any customer complaints and issues to the Kitchen Manager.
Requirements to include:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of SERV Safe or equivalent training upon hire.
- Knowledge of state and government regulations and Department of Correction's standards is a plus.
