Form of workRound Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. Kinross began operating the mine in 2003, and it has since become a continuous improvement leader in the Company’s portfolio. Round Mountain poured its 15 millionth ounce in 2018. Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations.
The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.
Under the general supervision of the Human Resources Department, the Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the mine property while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values. This is a Part Time position.
1. Heavy mopping, sweeping, dusting, and vacuuming in order to keep floors clean.
2. Emptying of trash receptacles.
3. Daily cleaning of RMGC Clinic facilities.
4. Cleaning of guest and company housing.
5. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
6. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
7. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
8. Works without risk or harm to self and others.
9. Punctuality and regular attendance required.
10. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
11. Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
1. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
2. Must be aware of all chemicals used and what their purposes are, including what chemicals can and cannot be used in conjunction with each other and on certain surfaces.
3. Previous custodial experience would be preferred.
4. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
6. Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
7. Requires valid driver’s license.
Wages are based upon experience ($20.23-$23.41)
